Ridgefield, CT - ProMedia.travel LLC has named former Business Travel News publisher Louis Magliaro its executive vice president of sales and marketing. The addition strengthens ProMedia.travel's management team by bringing in an accomplished travel publishing veteran with an in-depth understanding of the business travel and meetings marketplaces.
Magliaro has been involved in travel publishing sales and marketing for more than a dozen years, most recently as a vice president with BTN parent VNU Business Publications. In his new role, Magliaro will help create new services for travel industry marketers, oversee ProMedia.travel's sales efforts and participate in the company's strategic planning.
ProMedia.travel will launch The Transnational April 19 and Management.travel on April 26.
"It's not every day that you get to put your signature on the ground floor of something new," Magliaro said. "We're building a dynamic platform for the delivery of information to travel and meetings buyers."

Within VNU, Magliaro also served as vice president of sales for Successful Meetings and Meeting News. Previously, he was executive travel director for Gourmet Magazine. Early in his career, Magliaro held various sales and marketing positions with Marriott, Crowne Plaza and Millennium Hotels. A graduate of the Farleigh Dickinson International School of Hospitality Management, Magliaro also holds an MBA in Marketing.
Founded in 2006, ProMedia.travel LLC produces The Beat, Management.travel and The Transnational. The company is headquartered in Ridgefield, CT.
