July 14, 2006 ProMedia.travel Announces Procurement.travel Magazine, Hires McNulty As Content Director |
|
Ridgefield, CT - ProMedia.travel LLC today announced plans this fall to launch its first print publication, Procurement.travel, and named Mary Ann McNulty content director. The rapidly expanding business-to-business publishing company currently produces The Beat, Management.travel, The Transnational and their respective websites.
Procurement.travel is designed for professional purchasers of worldwide corporate travel and meetings. Recognizing the ongoing transformation of procurement and travel management in corporations, Procurement.travel will provide the trends, case studies, market intelligence, analysis and benchmarks that procurement experts need to source, procure, fulfill, measure, evaluate and report.
Formed earlier this year to provide professional travel intelligence to the managed travel and meetings sectors, ProMedia.travel was founded by Jay Campbell, David Jonas and Tim Reid. Louis Magliaro joined the company shortly thereafter. All four, as well as Mary Ann McNulty, established themselves as leading industry information providers during the past two decades at Business Travel News.
"The new magazine furthers ProMedia.travel's core strategy of producing information channels that speak directly to the managed travel industry's diverse and distinct audiences," said Reid, the company's president and CEO. "We are thrilled to welcome Mary Ann, with whom we worked for many years and for whom we have immense respect. She is a fantastic addition to our content team."
For nearly 20 years, McNulty has documented the transformation of managed travel and meetings in more than 2,000 articles and research reports published in Corporate Travel, Meeting News, Resorts & Incentives and BTN. In her most recent position, McNulty spent six years as editor of StarCite's online news section, producing news, newsletters and marketing content for the start-up meetings technology provider. Since last fall, McNulty has been providing content for industry research reports, white papers and articles.
During her 12-year career with Gralla Publications and Miller Freeman, McNulty focused on technology, payment and expense reporting solutions, and continuously enhanced the research-based projects she led, such as the Corporate Travel 100, Corporate Travel Index, Automation Directory and Black Book. As Executive Editor of Gralla Publications' Meeting News magazine in the 1990s, McNulty spearheaded a series of benchmarking reports on facility service levels, planner professionalism and convention and visitor bureau services. In 1997-98, she served as a subject matter expert, analyst and author of the "Managing Travel & Entertainment Expenses" consortium benchmarking study by the American Productivity & Quality Center in Houston.
McNulty also has developed and presented content for numerous industry meetings and seminars, and served on the NBTA Hotel Committee, NBTA Technology Committee and ACTE Conference Steering Committees for Orlando and Vancouver. Recognizing her contributions to the industry, the Association of Corporate Travel Executives honored her with its Professionalism Award in 2000.
McNulty holds a Master's degree in Public Affairs Reporting from the University of Illinois at Springfield, and a Bachelor's degree in journalism from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
